WHAT IS UCCF?

 

We (along with the ISCF) are the largest student-led Christian organization in Jamaica. We are an inter-denominational and evangelical tertiary school ministry. UCCF's aim is to help move tertiary students along a path of spiritual growth and maturity, producing in them transformational leadership skills relevant for society in which they live.

 

We are not a church neither are we a substitute for a church. We encourage UCCFers to attend church regularly. We are a para church Movement, that is, a ministry that works along with and helps the local church to accomplish its purpose in the campus environment.

 

WE are a part of a bigger movement, The International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES) that operates worldwide and also CARIFES (Caribbean Fellowship of Evangelical Students). We are also a part of an umbrella organisation, The Students Christian Fellowship & Scripture Union (SCFSU), of which, Inter-School Christian Felloship (ISCF), Teachers Christian Fellowship (TCF) and Graduate Christian Fellowship (GCF) are a part.

​WHAT WE BELIEVE

  • The unity of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit in the Godhead.

  • Sovereignty of God in creation,revelation,redemption and final judgment.

  • The divine inspiration and entire trustworthiness of Holy Scriptures as originally given, and its supreme authorityin all matters of faith and conduct.

  • The universal sinfulness and guilt of all men since the fall, rendering them subject to God's wrath and condemnation.

  • Redemption from guilt, penalty, dominion, and pollution of sin, solely through sacrificial death (as our Representative and Substitute) of the Lord Jesus Christ, the incarnate Son of God.

  • The bodily ressurection of the Lord Jesus Christ from the dead and His Ascension to the right hand of God the Father.

  • The presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the work of regeneration.

  • The justification of the sinner by the grace of God through faith alone (it's not by any other action of ours that we can be saved)

  • The indwelling and work of the Holy Spirit in the believer.

  • The one Holy Universal Church which is the body of Christ and to which the true believers belong.

  • The expectation of the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
